RST develops passenger cabin on behalf of the German Aerospace Center

The inauguration ceremony ensued at the DLR Simulator Center AVES in Braunschweig.

On behalf of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), RST has supplied a multi-functional passenger cabin for use in the DLR simulator center AVES (Air Vehicle Simulator) in Braunschweig. The design and system integration of the new passenger cabin was carried out at RST in Rostock. After a successful installation and probationary period, the cabin was officially handed over in the simulator center of the research firm on Wednesday, 17.10.2018, as part of a ceremonial inauguration.

With the aim of investigating the dynamic interaction between humans and aircraft, AVES has been successfully operating for several years now, with two high-quality simulation cockpits for each type, aircraft and helicopter. In order to achieve realistic environmental factors in future tests, the structure of the simulator is modeled to that of a classic aircraft cabin, with rows of seats, luggage racks, operational controls, displays and air conditioning in their common position. Essential additions to the basic configuration include components and systems that enable DLR specialists to conduct targeted research into the development of cabin layouts and functionalities.

RST wishes DLR every success for their future use.
