Harmonised businessprocess modelsfor aircraft programmes

The challenge

An aviation OEM viewed itself confronted with business process models (BPMs) which, above and beyond different aircraft programmes, differed greatly and were based on various methods and tools. Within the scope of process improvement measures, RST Rostock System-Technik assumed the definition and development of a generally valid business process model in the special tool ARIS – including the systematic harmonisation of the corresponding methods and tools – in order to secure an efficient and unambiguous process depiction.

The solution

Starting from interface testing, the different, event-driven process chain (EPC) models from the current standard processes were validated and updated. The final processes were defined and modelled in ARIS.

The inclusion of the processes in the ARIS platform enables the customer further use in connection with further processes, for example for the generation of quality manuals for certification purposes or for modelling and optimising business processes.
