The challenge
An aviation OEM wanted to validate the feasibility of an innovative cooling concept for aircraft galleys. The objective of this project was to optimise cooling efficiency and system space use under near-series conditions.
The solution
Using COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) components, RST Rostock System-Technik developed and manufactured the prototype of a modular and scalable galley module which can potentially be used for several aircraft programmes. It was based on a series galley. The innovative concept was confirmed by verification tests in a testing house.
