Optimised manufacturingtolerances foraircraft cabin modules

The challenge

Due to tolerances and tolerance chains, the integration of cabin modules into an aircraft structure is time-consuming. In order to secure future production rates, reduce integration efforts and improve the quality of the product “aircraft cabin”, optimisation is required from several viewpoints.

The solution

Taking tool-based tolerance analyses in a digital mock-up into account, RST Rostock System-Technik carried out iterative optimisation. Here, various dependencies were examined for a large number of components and suppliers and new tolerance specifications were developed. These also included adapted installation and integration concepts.
