Standardisedsupplier evaluationfor aviation

The challenge

An aviation OEM aspired to systematically improving its supplier evaluation process. Neither uniform review processes nor comparable performance indicators existed. Moreover, this concerned a process which applied to a large number of different internal and external users whose various needs had to be taken into consideration.

Against the backdrop of these challenges, RST Rostock System-Technik took on part of the development and improvement of a review tool for standardised supplier evaluation.

The challenge

Based on interviews, RST developed systematic user stories for a wide range of users. They provided the basis for:

  • analysis of synergy and efficiency potential,
  • definition of approval criteria,
  • identification of bugs and improvements as well as solution development in collaboration with process owners and users,
  • preparation of user support material.

The resulting platform, together with documentation, offers digital process support for all parties involved and, in addition to process security, enables the further use of data in subsequent process steps.
